Angoordana [ Urad Dal Sweet Boondi ]


A popular Prasad Recipe-

Ingredients-

  • Urad Dal dhuli-1/2 cup

  • Maida-1 cup

  • Sugar-750 gm.

  • Water-1 cup and 3 tab sp.

  • Baking powder- 1 tsp.

  • Cardamom Powder-1/2 tsp.

  • Ladle with big hole

  • Water melon seeds for garnishing

Method- 1. Wash and soak dal for 2 hours, grind finely. 2. Add maida in a big bowl, add baking powder and water little by little and mix well till the lumps dissolve. 3. Now add urad dal paste into it and mix well till pouring consistency. 4. Batter should not too thick or too thin. 5. Heat the oil. 6. Take small amount of batter, place ladle upside down over the kadhai and press the batter. 7. fry till golden brown. 8. take out boondi and add in chashni. 9. Stir the boondi as they are crispy and soaked the syrup. 10. Drain out the excess syrup and place on a plate. 11. Stir the boomdi with a spoon so they do not stick. For Chashni- 1. In a pan add sugar and water and cook till sugar dissolve, now reduce, cook till one thread is formed. 2. Add cardamom powder. Tips-

1. Heat the oil properly otherwise boodi can stick to each other. 2. If batter is too thin, boondi will become flat, if batter is too thick,the boondiwill become hard. 3. For Angoordana you should take big hole boondi jhara. I do no have big one so I used normal hole ladle.

Step By Step Recipe of Angoordana-
