Cheese Crackers

Home made cheese crackers, a crispy and buttery snack. It is perfect snack for cocktail party, tea time party and favorite healthy snack for kids .

It is very simple recipe with few ingredients like flour, butter and cheese. I have used food processor to knead the dough but you can knead with hands too. For best result please follow the tips section.

Ingredients-

  • Maida 1 1/2 Cup

  • Unsalted Butter 3 Tab Sp.

  • Cheddar cheese Cheese Grated 1/2 Cup

  • Salt 1/4 tsp.

  • Cold Water As needed

Howto Make-

  1. In a food processor add maida and butter and mix well.

  2. Add grated cheese and pulse for 30 sec.

  3. Add little water at a time and pulse until combined.

  4. Take out, make a boll , Immediately wrap in cling foil and keep it in refrigerator for 15 min.

  5. Roll out into 1/8 inch chapati.

  6. Cut into squares.

  7. Use a chopstick or some other small object to poke little holes in the middle. This is optional.

  8. Place them into baking tray and bake at 180 degree F for 20 to25 minutes or until golden and crisp.

  9. Cool down completely and store in airtight container.

Tips-

  1. All ingredients should be cold.

  2. Use always cold butter for flaky crackers.

  3. You can use any type of cheese.

  4. After kneading immediately wrap in cling foil otherwise butter will be melt.

  5. If you are using salted butter, do not add extra salt.

  6. Add water little at a time.

  7. Do not over work your dough.

  8. Baking time vary oven to oven and thickness of crackers.For crispy crackers you can bake them slightly longer.

Step by step recipe of Cheese Crackers-
