Fennel Shots[digestive drink]

The subtle flavor of fennel combined with the sweetness of orange, tanginess of lemon and peppery-spicy taste of ginger makes it a very refreshing digestive drink. This fennel drink is my favorite post-meal mouth freshener. It has a very soothing effect on conditions like bloating and mild indigestion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 t Sp. fennel seeds or fennel bulb

  • 1 orange

  • 1-inch fresh ginger root

  • 1 lemon

  • 1 and a half cup Water

Dry Masala-

  • Black salt to taste

  • 1 t Sp. Cumin Seeds

  • 1/4 t Sp.carom seeds or ajwain

  • 1/4 tsp. Pudina powder

How to make-a the

  1. Dry roast all Masala ingredients and grind into a fine powder.

  2. Boil water and fennel seeds for 3-4 minutes.

  3. Strain water.

  4. Add orange and lemon juice, add 1 tSp. masala and mix well.

  5. Serve in shots glasses after the meal.

  6. Add some boiled fennel seeds in it.

Tips-

  1. If you have fresh fennel bulb, Run all of the ingredients through the juicer, and drink immediately.

  2. You can store boil fennel water in the fridge and add orange lemon juice at serving time.

Step by Step recipes of Fennel shots-

Boil water and fennel seeds for 3-4 minutes. Strain water. Add orange and lemon juice, add 1 tSp. masala and mix well. Serve after the meal.

Serve in shots glasses after the meal.
