Laddoo is a ball shape popular Indian sweet, popular ones are made by gram flour, wheat, semolina, bundi etc..

Fig-&-Date laddoo is a healthy , nutritious and guilt free delicious energy ball. This is sugar free and easy to make. The natural sweetener of fig and dates is enough to sweeten it. Addition of small amount of mixed nuts add crunch to it. Coating by coconut or poppy seeds add a nice taste and aroma to them. These laddoos are full of vitamin, mineral, iron, calcium and fiber.

In winter season or fasting time these laddoos are good source of energy. You can add these ladoos to kid's tiffin or as an after school snack. it is also a wonderful snack for travelling because It stays fresh for long time. These Laddoos are very beneficial in pregnancy or post delivery.

If you have craving to have something sweet and do not want to add calories, try this healthy & easy to make dessert.

Preparation Time- 10 minutes

Cook Time- 15 minutes

Total Time- 25 minutes

Healthy, nutritious,easy to make, sugar free laddoos, loaded with dry fruits and nuts.

Ingredients:

  • Dried Figs / Anjeer – 1 cup

  • Dates – 1&1/2 cup

  • Cashews – 1/4 cup chopped

  • Finely Almonds- 1/4 cup chopped finely

  • Raisins- 3 1/4 cup

  • Milk – 1/4 cup

  • Poppy Seeds / Khus Khus – 1 tab sp.

  • Desiccated Coconut- 1/2 cup

  • Ghee – 2 tab sp.

How To Make-

  1. Soak figs in milk and cook in microwave for 3 minutes on medium heat, cool down.

  2. Remove the seeds from dates and churn both in a blender and make a fine puree.

  3. Heat ghee in a kadai, add chopped nuts and fry them till golden, drain and set aside.

  4. In the remaining ghee, add pureed dates and mix well. Cook on low heat for 10 mins till it leaves the sides of the pan.

  5. Now add fried nuts, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  6. Transfer it on a plate or cool down.

  7. Divide into equal portions and shape each portion into round or any shape of your choice.

  8. Roll it on roasted khus khus or desicatted coconut.

  9. It stays good for 4-5 months in the refrigerator.

Tips-

  1. You can also toast the nuts in an oven instead of deep frying in ghee.

  2. You can make barfi also.

  3. Transfer mixture on a greased tray, smoothen the top, refrigerate it for an hour and cut into squars or triangle.

  4. Shape mixture into cylinders,refrigerate the cylinder shaped mixture for 2 hours or until it hardens.

  5. After it hardens, cut it into rounds and roll out in khus khus or desicated coconut.

  6. Always use seed less dates or remove seeds carefully.
