Luckhnavi Yellow Mutter Tikki Chat

Sreet food-

A very famous traditional North Indian Chat recipe “Luckhnavi Matar ki Chat”. Basic ingredient of this chat is dried yellow peas. Boiled-Fried matar ki tikki served with spices, curd and khatti meethi chutneys. Yellow peas are a good source of protein so this preparation is delicious as well as nutritious. Try out this mouth-watering chaat. Ingredients- Yellow peas-1 Katori Green chillies-3 to 4 Ginger grated- 1 tsp. Cumin seed powder- 1 tsp. red chili powder 1 tsp. coriander powder- 1 tsp. Garam Masala-1 tsp. Salt to taste Chat masala-1 tsp. Ghee or oil-3 tb sp. For the topping- green chutney-2-3 tbsp Sweet tamarind chutney-2-3 tbsp. Coriander leaves finely chopped Onion -1 finely chopped Sev-2 tbsp. Mix masala-[ chat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder]


How to Make-


  1. Soak the yellow peas for 5 to6 hours and pressure cook with 3 katori of water for 15-20 minutes. The amount of water should be perfect otherwise peas mixture becomes soggy.

  2. Mash this mixture and add salt, all spices, green chilies, grated gingers, coriander leaves, and mix well.

  3. Now divide the mixture in equal portions and make round tikkis.

  4. Heat the tava and fry tikis with ghee or oil till they become golden brown. How to serve- • In a plate, take fried tikki, top it with green chutney, sweet tamarind chutney and curd. Sprinkle mixed masala over it. • Garnish with some chopped onion, coriander leaves, serve and ginger juliennes. • Serve hot.
