Makhan Peda

Makhan Vada is a traditional Indian sweet. It is similar to Gulab Jamun but the difference is that makhan vada are not so soft and stuffed with dry fruits inside it. It can be made easily at home within 30minutes. Normally Makhan peda is made with khoya but now days pure and fresh khoya is not available, i use milk powder as a substitute of khoya. It is also known as Mawa Peda.

.Making makkan peda sweet is perfect for Diwali. On Diwali we always make sweets and snacks at home because home made sweets are healthier than store bought and we can control the ingredients that go into them.

Ingredients-

Milk Powder---------------------------11/2 Cup

Milk---------------------------------------2 cup

Unsalted Butter -------------------4 tab Sp.

Baking soda----------------------------1/2 tsp.

Maida -------------------------------11/2 cup

Curd---------------------------------------1 Tab Sp.

kismish------------------------------------1 tab sp.

Chironji -----------------------------------1/2 tab sp.

Sugar--------------------------------------3 cup

Water----------------------------------------3 cup

Cardamom Powder---------------------1/2 tsp.

How to Make-

For Sugar Syrup-

  1. In a big pan add sugar and water and cook till little thick [string consistency not required]. Add cardamon powder, cover and keep aside.

For the Dough-

  1. In a pan add butter and milk and cook till butter melt.

  2. In a bowl add milk powder, add warm butter and milk mixture and whisk well.

  3. Add Curd and baking soda and mix well.

  4. Add maida and make a soft dough.

  5. Now make small balls and roll between palm,press the center and place raisen and chironji and roll it into ball, slightly press like a peda.

  6. In a kadhai heat oil.

  7. Drop peda in oil, flip, fry on medium to low heat until golden or dark brown.

  8. take out pedas and drop in the warm sugar syrup. Soak at least one hour.

Tips-

  1. Fry on low flame so it get cook evenly.

  2. Always soak in warm syrup so it absorbs the syrup.

  3. Reheat before serving.

  4. You can add nuts of your choice.

Step By Step Recipe of Makhan Peda-
