Non-Fried Corn Fritters:

Bhutta or corn is very most loved food in the Monsoon season. It is more satisfying because it is full of fibres, which help keep your digestive system healthy. It also has antioxidants and vitamins. So this Monsoon adds the goodness of Corn with this non-fried, healthy recipe.

Serves 3-4

ingredients:

  • 1 corn

  • 1 tab sp. Gram flour

  • 1 tab sp. Rice flour

  • 1 tab sp. Rava or semolina

  • 1 onion finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped

  • 2 green chillies finely chopped

  • 1 carrot grated

  • 1 capsicum finely chopped

  • 1/2 inch ginger finely chopped

  • 1/2 t Sp. Ajwain or carom seeds

  • 1/2 t Sp. red chilli powder

  • 2 t Sp. coriander leaves finely chopped

  • 1/4 t Sp. Baking powder

  • Water as per need

  • 2 tab Sp. oil for frying

How to Make:

  1. In a pan heat 1 t Sp. oil, add chopped garlic, green chillies and ginger and saute for 2 minutes.

  2. Add onion and cook till soft, add corn kernels, carrot and capsicum and cook for 2-3 minutes or until soft. Add salt and pepper and mix well.

  3. In a big bowl add Gram flour, Rava, rice flour, cooked vegetables, spices, baking powder, salt, coriander leaves, water and make a thick batter.

  4. Pour a big spoon batter on a hot Uttapa pan or plain heavy bottom pan spreading it into a flat, circular shape, add some oil, cook the fritters for 2 to 3 minutes, then flip them and cook 2- 3 minutes until crisp and golden brown both the side.

  5. Serve hot and chilli sauce or bell pepper sauce.

Tips-

  1. You can also use frozen corn. If you use frozen corn, drain off any excess liquid.

  2. If you do not have uttapam tava cut fritters with a rounded mould.

  3. You can also deep fry.

Step by Step Recipe of Non-Fried Corn Fritters:

In a big bowl add Gram flour, rava, rice flour, cooked vegeatables, spices, baking powder, salt, coriander leaves, water and make a thick batter.

Pour a big spoon batter on hot Uttapa tava tava, add some oil and fry both side until crisp and golden brown. Serve hot and chilli sauce or bell pepper sauce.
