Roasted Nav ratan Chiwda



A guilt free, low calorie tea time snack.

Ingredients-

  • 1 cup Thin flattened Rice [Poha]

  • ½ Cup peanut

  • ½ Cup Roasted channa

  • ½ Cup Cashew nut

  • ½ Cup Almonds

  • ½ Cup Raisins

  • ½ Cup Dry Coconut cut into pieces

  • 8-10 Curry leaves

  • 1 tsp. Mustard Seed

  • 1 tsp. Turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp. Black pepper powder

  • 1/4tsp. Asafetida

  • 1 tsp. Sesame seeds

  • 3 Green chilies slit in halves

  • 3-4 Sugar powder

  • 1 tb Sp .oil Salt to taste

Method- 1. Roast separately in Microwave for 2 or 3 minutes with medium temperature till crisp. Stir after 1 minute. a. Poha with 2 tsp.oil salt, turmeric powder, mixed together. b. Peanut with salt, red chili powder and 1 tsp.oil. c. Pre roasted channa dal with salt and 1/2 tsp oil. d. Almond and cashew nut with 1/2 tsp oil and salt. e. .Phool Makhana with 1 tsp.oil salt and black pepper. f. Dry coconut pieces with little oil. 2. Mix all above together and mix raisins also. 3. Grind citric acid and sugar in a small mixing bowl and mix properly. 4. Add black pepper. 5. In a pan heat 1 tab sp. oil, add heeng, green chilies and curry patta, sauté for i minute, add mustard seeds, let the mustard seeds pop add sesame seeds, stir, sauté for 1 minute. 6. Mix all ingredients and roast another 2 minutes. Continue stir in between. 7. Check the taste of salt and sugar and add accordingly. 8. Cool them completely 9. Store in air tight container. Tips- 1. You can add puffed rice also. 2. you can alter spices as per your liking.

c. Dry coconut pieces with little oil. Add raisins and mix all very well.

In a pan heat 1 tab Sp. oil, add heeng, green chilies and curry patta, saute for i minute, add mustard seeds, let the mustard seeds pop add sesame seeds, stir, saute for 1 minute.Pour over mixture and mix well. Add salt, black pepper,citric acid powder and sugar powder.Mix well.

Mixture is ready

You can add puffed rice also
