Seviyan [Vermicelli] custard falooda:

Seviyan kheer also known as vermicelli kheer or jave , is a must on Raksha Bandhan at my house. This year Give this simple vermicelli kheer an interesting twist. Here we made vermicelli in custard and present in falooda style with seasonal fruits and nuts.

Ingredients-

For Custard-

  • Milk 1 litre+ 1/2 cup

  • Vermicelli 2-3 tab Sp.

  • Ghee 2 t Sp.

  • Sugar 2-3 tab Sp.

  • Custard powder[Vanilla] 1 tab sp.

For Serving-

  • Mix Fruits 1 cup

  • Mix dry nuts finely chopped 2 tab Sp.

  • Sabja seeds 1 tab sp.

  • Cherry 4

How to Make-

  1. In a heavy bottom pan heat, Ghee and roast vermicelli or homemade jave on low heat till golden.

  2. In another heavy bottom, pan boils milk and add roasted vermicelli and cook for 5 minutes or until vermicelli gets cooked completely.

  3. In a small bowl add custard powder and 1/2cup milk and mix very well, add into the boil vermicelli kheer and mix very well.

  4. Add sugar and cook another 2-3 minutes or until milk thickens. stir continuously.

  5. transfer the custard into a large bowl. cool completely, and refrigerated for 2 hours.

How to Serve-

  1. Soak sabja seeds in enough water for 15 minutes.

  2. In a tall glass first, add 2 t Sp. sabja seeds.

  3. Fill 1/4 glass with chilled vermicelli custards.

  4. Add chopped fresh fruits like pomegranate, banana, apple, mango, grapes etc.

  5. Fill glass with custard.

  6. Finely garnish with dry nuts and fresh fruits and cherry.

  7. Serve chilled.
