Stuffed Sweet Potato Falhari Tikki

A very simple, fibrous and healthy snack. It is quite filling and keeps hunger away.

The sweet potato is a starchy, slightly sweet root vegetable and rich source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, iron, calcium and selenium. It is high in antioxidant. On the whole, sweet potatoes are an excellent addition to a balanced diet. This is the reason I use sweet potato in our recipes as much as possible. I use paneer and dry nuts as filling because, Paneer is full of protein keep you satisfy for long and keep the hunger control and dry nuts are good energy booster.

On this special occasion, enjoy your fast with this healthy snack.

Ingredients-

  • Beetroot ----------------------------------------1 big size.

  • Rock Salt or Sendha Namak -------------to taste

  • Black Pepper -----------------------------------1/4 t Sp.

  • Lemon juice -------------------------------------1 t Sp.

  • For Filling-

  • Paneer ------------------------------------------1/2 cup

  • Coconut Powder ------------------------------1 tab Sp.

  • Chironji -------------------------------------------1 t Sp.

  • water melon seeds----------------------------1 t Sp.

  • Almonds chopped into small pieces---1 t Sp.

  • Green Chili finely chopped ----------------1 t Sp.

  • Coriander leaves finely chopped --------1 tab Sp.

  • Rock Salt or Sendha Namak ----------------to taste

  • Black Pepper -------------------------------------1/4 t Sp.

How To Make-

  1. Boil the sweet potato, peel and great it.

  2. Add salt, pepper and lemon juice,mix and make a dough.

For Filling-

  1. Mash the paneer and add all ingredients of filling in it, mix well.

For Tikki-

  1. Grease hand with oil, take little portion of beetroot mixture, make a ball and flatten it, stuffed with paneer mixture and start shaping a tikki.

  2. Shape all the tikkis, cover with cling foil and keep in refrigerator till needed.

  3. Take a heavy bottom tava or pan, Heat 2-3 tab Sp. oil, place tikkis on it and cook on medium low heat.

  4. Once get golden on one side, flip and cook another side till golden brown.

  5. Serve with falhari green chutney.

Tips-

  1. I do not add any binding agent, if needed add any fasting flour. Quantity depends on the moisture present in the beetoot.

  2. Lemon juice adjust the sweetness of Beetroot. You can also use amchur powder.

  3. Fill good amount of paneer filling.

  4. If you like, you can fry it.
