Sulamani Tea



Sulaimani chai is an aromatic sweet-sour divine tea, popular in the Malabar region of Kerala, served with honey and a few drops of lemon. It is a great digestive drink and is often served after a heavy meal.

Preparation time: 2 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Serves: 2

Ingredients-

  • 2 cups Water

  • 1/2 t Sp. Green Cardomom crushed

  • 1-inch cinnamon stick

  • 4 cloves

  • 1 t Sp. tea leaves

  • 2 t Sp. lemon Juice

  • 2-3 t Sp. Honey

  • 4 Basil or Mint leaves

How to Make-

  1. In a pan add water, spices, mint leaves and allow to boil for 2 minutes.

  2. Add tea leaves and honey and boil for 30 seconds.

  3. Strain into teapot add lemon juice and mix it.

  4. Serve hot and garnish with basil or mint leaves.

Tips-

  1. Do not over boil the tea.

  2. Add honey according to your taste.


Step By Step recipe of Sulamani tea-

In a pan add water and spices and allow to boil for 2 minutes. Add tea leaves and honey and boil for 1 minute. Strain into teapot and lemon juice and mix it.

Strain into teapot add lemon juice and mix it.

Serve hot and garnish with basil or mint leaves.
